Plants

Know the names of all your plants, both indoor and outdoor. Label each of your plants with the correct name before a toxic exposure occurs.
To help correctly identify a plant, take as much of the plant as possible as a specimen (leaf, stem and branch or berries) to a nursery, florist or cooperative exension site.
Pets, especially dogs, also eat plants.
Do not assume that a plant is not poisonous because pets or wildlife eat it.
Remove all mushrooms for your yard. Only trained experts can correctly idenitfy edible mushrooms.
If you know the name of a plant that is not on either of the lists below, call 1-800-222-1222 for information about whether it is poisonous.
Call 1-800-222-1222 if you think you have eaten a toxic plant.
